ENSO - LOGO FOR ART SCHOOL

To create a logo for a school is one of the most difficult things a designer can do, nevermind an art school. Understandably the logo has to be artsy, classy, and carry a deep meaning.

Enso is a magnificent name for everything art related. In Zen Buddhism, it is a circle that is hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. The enso symbolizes absolute enlightenment, strength, elegance, the universe, and mu (the void). It is characterised by a minimalism born of Japanese aesthetics.

When understanding what enso means it really becomes obvious what one should base the logo on, the enso circle of course.

Because it's a school I went for adding a tree to the logo. Tree symbolize knowledge, very fitting in this case.
